Three major projects of the Qinghai Damei Olefins project have been successfully completed! This marked the transition of the tank farm project from the construction phase to the commissioning and testing stage, and its completion provided a solid foundation for the stable operation of the entire project. The leaders who attended this ceremony were: Bai Yongqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the company, and Chief Commander of the project construction; Xiao Wancai, member of the Party Committee, Executive Vice President, and Deputy Chief Commander of the project construction; Zhu Cunning, Vice President; Lu Lingyi, a senior advisor; Chai Qingjian, Head of the labor union and Deputy Chief Commander of the project construction; Hu Yanping, Deputy Chief Commander; Wang Shuhua, Vice President of Sinopec Nanjing Company; Deng Yuebing, Manager of the Storage and Transportation Engineering Branch; Sun Shaojian, Director of Jinkeyi Supervision Company; and Xu Yong, Director of the PetroChina Lanzhou Quality Inspection Station. The ceremony was presided over by Li Wenge, the assistant to the company’s general manager. Xiao Wancai, the deputy chief commander for project construction, noted that the tank farm is an important auxiliary production facility supporting the company’s olefin projects; it constitutes an integral part of the company’s future production system and serves as a key link between upstream and downstream facilities. There are 23 storage tanks in total, with a combined capacity of 65,000 cubic meters, representing major hazard sources in the production process. Since its construction began, all parties involved have always given top priority to non-destructive testing and welding quality. They overcame various difficulties such as a shortage of sand and gravel, continuous rainfall, and heavy snowfall, and ultimately achieved successful completion of the project – an achievement that was hard-won. Successful commissioning is not the end, but just a milestone; there are still tasks such as the three inspections and four determinations, instrument calibration, individual unit testing, and joint testing in conjunction with production.
