Recently, the 360,000 tons per year high-efficiency, wide-operating-condition four-in-one nitric acid production unit technology developed by Xi’an Shaanxi Gear Power Co., Ltd. was selected as one of the new energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies to be promoted in the nitrogen fertilizer and methanol industries during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, thanks to its significant advantages in terms of sustainability, efficiency, and energy savings. For a long time, China’s nitric acid industry has relied entirely on imports for the complete set of technologies related to the production of nitric acid tetra-set machines. In order to break free from dependence on others, Shaanxi Gas Turbine has kept a close eye on its international competitors and made continuous efforts to advance the localization of nitric acid production units, thereby improving its technical capabilities. In recent years, it has developed independently a series of large-scale nitric acid production units with capacities of 100,000 tons per year, 150,000 tons per year, 180,000 tons per year, 270,000 tons per year, 360,000 tons per year, and 450,000–600,000 tons per year. Among them, the technologically advanced 360,000-ton/year nitric acid production unit not only increases the scale of dilute nitric acid production but also breaks the foreign technological monopoly; it features low energy consumption, a high comprehensive utilization rate of ammonia, and a high concentration of the produced nitric acid. To date, Shaanxi Gas Turbine’s \"four-in-one nitric acid plant using the dual-pressure method\" has been installed in 120 units across domestic and international markets. In addition, there are 23 turnkey projects in the nitric acid sector, offering customers worldwide comprehensive system solutions and services for the entire process, from ammonia synthesis to nitric acid production ; The independently developed \"technology for utilizing waste heat and pressure in nitric acid production processes\" has been included in the **List of Key Energy-Saving and Low-Carbon Technologies for Promotion**. This technology enables the large-scale and domestic production of devices for recovering waste heat and pressure in nitric acid production processes, and it is widely used in the field of energy recovery within such processes in the chemical industry. In June 2020, the 360,000-ton/year nitric acid plant of Chongqing Huafeng Chemical Co., Ltd., which was constructed under the general contracting of Shaanxi Gas Turbine, was successfully put into operation. This facility is one of the largest nitric acid production plants using the dual-pressure method in China. At present, the unit operates efficiently and stably, with all performance metrics being satisfactory; its quality, reliability, and excellent service have earned high praise from Chongqing Huafeng.
