The Ningxia Baofeng Phase III project has once again chosen to work with Nanjing Dunxian Technology. Author/Source: Sinochem New Network. Date: July 7, 2020. Clicks: 662. On July 2, news came from Nanjing Dunxian Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., stating that the company had recently received a notice of winning the bid for a project from Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group Co., Ltd., and had signed another contract with Baofeng Energy regarding the transfer of controlled heat transfer conversion technology and related equipment. It is reported that this marks the second time in less than three years that Baofeng Energy has chosen to engage in close cooperation with Nanjing Dunxian, reflecting the client’s recognition and trust in Nanjing Dunxian’s technologies and products. The controllable heat transfer converter used in this partnership will be applied to Baofeng Energy’s third-phase project for producing 500,000 tons per year of coal-based olefins. Li Jiangang, deputy general manager of Nanjing Dunxian Company, told reporters that this contract signed in China represents another major coal chemical project undertaken by Nanjing Dunxian since 2020 – following the project in Lujiang, Anhui, for the production of 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year along with associated synthesis gas, and the project in Henan Jindadi Chemical Co., Ltd. for the production of 600,000 tons of ammonia per year. To date, Nanjing Dunxian has undertaken the installation of 50 sets of controllable heat transfer conversion units and 76 sets of controllable heat transfer conversion furnaces, including large-scale projects such as Air Products’ 1 million-ton ethylene glycol production facility in the United States, Zhejiang Petrochemical’s 40 million-ton integrated refining and chemical processing plant, Ningxia Baofeng’s 2.2 million-ton methanol production facility, Inner Mongolia Yitai’s 2 million-ton coal-to-oil plant, Shaanxi Yulin Energy’s 400,000-ton ethylene glycol production facility, and Shandong Hualu Hengsheng’s 1 million-ton combined alcohol and ammonia production project. Li Jiangang explained that the 2.2 million-ton methanol plant in Phase II of Ningxia Baofeng, being the project with the largest single-capacity methanol production capacity in the world, adopted Nanjing Dunxian’s controlled heat-transfer shift technology. It was successfully commissioned in May this year and has since been operating steadily with excellent process parameters. For the third-phase olefin project, powder coal gasification technology will still be used for gasification. To match the characteristics of this type of furnace (low water vapor ratio, high CO level), the shift reaction will again employ Nanjing Dunxian’s “controllable heat transfer shift technology”, in line with that used in the second-phase project. The goal is to achieve the lowest possible investment in the installation, the simplest operation, the best energy consumption metrics, and the most stable system operation.
