The quality-separated crystallization project for concentrated salt water at Northwest Energy & Chemical Company has successfully produced high-quality by-product crystalline salts. On April 26, the quality-separated crystallization unit at Northwest Energy & Chemical Company completed the entire process, enabling the successful separation of salts from wastewater with high salt content. The completion and operation of the device for high-concentration saltwater quality-controlled crystallization mark a milestone, as it enables Northwest Energy & Chemical Company to achieve zero discharge of industrial wastewater. This is of great significance for protecting the Yellow River basin, promoting the recycling of corporate resources, and carrying out comprehensive pollution control. It represents a clear manifestation of the company’s commitment to the principle that \"lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets\" in its pursuit of sustainable and high-quality development. Since the project began construction, it has received strong support from the local **departments and the group company. During the construction process, Shenzhen Energy Resources Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd., China Light Industry Changsha Co., Ltd., and the company’s project team overcame a series of engineering challenges, including the complexity of the underground pipeline networks, the large geographical extent of the project, and the limited space available for construction. In particular, the company’s project team and the construction contractors overcame the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the supply of construction materials, equipment transportation, and the construction workforce, achieving various goals such as a successful one-time installation of the evaporator, a successful power-up on the first attempt, and zero production safety incidents, thereby ensuring the smooth completion and commissioning of the project. The project is under EPC general contracting by Shenzhen Energy Resources Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd. With a designed treatment capacity of 40 cubic meters per hour, it employs a domestically advanced, mature, and reliable process that consists of pre-treatment and membrane concentration units as well as evaporation and crystallization units. This allows for the complete recovery of water produced by the facility; industrial-grade sodium chloride and anhydrous sodium sulfate are separated through crystallization, thereby achieving zero wastewater discharge and the resourceful utilization of the salts obtained.
