Progress on the Construction of the 1.44 million tons/year Coking Project by Shanxi Coking Coal Group Author/Source: Huahua Net Coal Chemicals Date: February 22, 2022 Clicks: 20 On February 17, Yang Qingmin, vice president of Shanxi Coking Coal Group, led officials from the Coking Industry Development Bureau and the Strategic Planning Department to inspect the progress of the key 1.44 million tons/year coking project. After listening to the reports on the project, Yang Qingmin noted that the 1.44 million tons per year coking project is part of the group company’s \"coal-coking-materials\" industrial chain as well as a supporting project for carbon-based new materials. It serves as a key project for building a \"green digital coking industrial park,\" and it is of great significance for improving the quality of the traditional coking industry and addressing the shortcomings of the industrial park. He requested that Shanxi Coking strengthen communication with the relevant departments of the group company, prepare a list of key tasks to be carried out before the project starts, focus on aspects such as preliminary design, procedural handling, project bidding, and site preparation, break down the objectives in more detail, establish clear deadlines, and assign specific responsibilities to ensure that the project commences on schedule and can start producing results as soon as possible. The 1.44 million-ton coking project in Shanxi Coking serves as a precursor project for the \"450,000-ton cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis carbon-based new materials project.\" With a total investment of over 3 billion yuan, it involves the construction of 7-meter regenerative top-mounted coke ovens, one set of 190 t/h quenching equipment, as well as production facilities such as coal yards, coal blending silos, sulfur recovery systems, acid production units, ammonium sulfate plants, and benzene extraction units. Additionally, auxiliary facilities for waste heat utilization, wastewater treatment, as well as water and power supply are also built as part of this project. Upon completion of the project, it is expected to produce 1.44 million tons of metallurgical coke per year, as well as 115,000 tons of coke by-products. Additionally, 40,000 cubic meters of coke oven gas will be utilized hourly to produce carbon-based synthetic materials.
