Recently, Southwest Chemical Engineering entered into a contract with Shanxi Jinyan Hydrogen-Rich New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. for this project. The project plans to use the coke oven gas generated as a by-product of Jinyan Group’s 2X2.5 million tons/year coking project as raw material to produce LNG through the combined production of synthetic ammonia and methanol, employing a TSA purification process to supply purified gas of suitable quality for subsequent processes. This project faces issues due to low pressure of the feed gas, a significant increase in water content in the feed, high levels of impurities, and the absence of an appropriate clean gas source within the plant for use as regenerating gas. Therefore, higher requirements are placed on plan formulation and process design. For the selection of purifying agents, materials with high strength and the ability to withstand multiple thermal regeneration cycles should be used ; The regasified gas utilizes some of the partially purified gas produced by the TSA units, taking full account of its recycling across multiple TSA units to enhance the overall economic efficiency of the system ; Furthermore, since the final TSA purified gas enters the cold box directly for methane separation without passing through any reaction stages, there is a need for improved precision in the removal of impurities such as benzene and ammonia. This project is part of the comprehensive utilization project for hydrogen-rich coke oven gas in Shanxi Jinyan, and it is a key project in Shanxi Province. Upon completion, the project will have a positive impact on the comprehensive utilization of coal resources in Shanxi.
