Recently, good news came again from the construction site of Yulin Coal Chemical’s 200,000 tons per year carbon dioxide liquefaction project: the zero-load first trial run of the carbon dioxide compressor, which is a key equipment in this project, was successful. It is reported that the function of the carbon dioxide compressor system is to compress gaseous carbon dioxide, raising the concentration of carbon dioxide at 0.13 MPa from the purification unit to 2.1 MPa, and then condensing it into liquid carbon dioxide product using an propylene deep cooler. In order to complete the equipment installation and commissioning tasks on schedule, all members of the project team worked hard without hesitation, working together in unity. They collaborated closely with the manufacturer’s service staff and the installation units, coordinated actively, and worked tirelessly in the field despite the scorching heat. They also developed a practical commissioning plan. After 4 hours of no-load testing, all parameters of the compressor, main motor, water system, and oil system were normal, and the equipment operated well, achieving the interim goal of a successful first trial run. The successful test run has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent air load test of the compressor unit and the smooth commissioning of the installation.
