Recently, in order to actively implement the requirements related to \"dual carbon\" targets and energy control measures, and to promote high-quality development through energy savings and reduced consumption, Shaanxi Coal Group’s Shaanxi Coking Company has launched a major technical upgrade project for the comprehensive utilization of coking oven gas. This project serves as a model for the company’s pursuit of green and low-carbon development, and it is also the first key project under the company’s 14th Five-Year Plan; it holds significant milestone importance for the company’s development. The technical renovation project for the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas is expected to require an investment of around 96 million yuan. It involves, through a rational process design and the use of advanced membrane separation technology, utilizing the hydrogen-rich gas and carbon-rich gas obtained after desulfurization in coke production processes; these gases are then supplied respectively to the ammonia synthesis units and the cogeneration systems using gas turbines. The steam generated as a by-product of this project is used to replace the steam required by existing coal-fired boilers, thereby allowing those boilers to be shut down. This approach not only enables a stepwise utilization of coke oven gas and increases its added value but also ensures self-sufficiency in energy for the entire plant. As an additional component of the technical upgrade project for the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas, Shaanxi Coking Company also launched the cogeneration project using gas turbines at the same time. The total investment in this project is approximately 350 million yuan. It involves combining the use of coke oven gas for power generation with that of steam produced on-site; part of the electricity generated is used internally, while the excess electricity is supplied to the **power grid. It is a technical improvement project aimed at saving energy and reducing carbon emissions, minimizing pollution from boiler operations, and improving operational efficiency.
