Yunnan Pioneer Chemical Co., Ltd. is a new company established through joint investment by Yunnan Jiehua Clean Energy Development Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Provincial Industrial Investment Co., Ltd. The company is located in the Jinsuo Industrial Park, Xundian County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, with a registered capital of 1.25 billion yuan. To promote the clean and comprehensive utilization of lignite resources in Yunnan, Yunnan Pioneer Chemical Co., Ltd. invested 4.525 billion yuan in the Jinsuo Industrial Park in Xundian County, Kunming, to build the \"Pioneer Lignite Clean Utilization Pilot Project\". Construction of the project began in 2009, with trial production scheduled to start in July 2013. The project has been listed as a major industrial project to be prioritized at the provincial level for 4 consecutive years. At the same time, the project has received strong support from the science and technology authorities; its related research projects have won 1 grant under the \"863 Program\", 1 project under the \"Science and Technology Support Program\", 4 projects under Yunnan Province’s major science and technology initiatives, and 1 project under Yunnan Province’s plan to strengthen its scientific and technological capabilities. Additionally, this project is listed as one of the key projects under the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ \"Innovation 2020\" initiative – specifically, the project focused on \"Key Technologies and Demonstrations for the Clean and Efficient Utilization of Low-Rank Coal\". Relying on the Pilot Demonstration Project for the Clean Utilization of Pioneer lignite, the company will construct large-scale facilities for the clean gasification of lignite, liquefied natural gas production, coal tar processing, and synthetic oil production. The main products of this project are methanol, gasoline, liquefied natural gas (LNG)/compressed natural gas (CNG), with by-products including liquefied petroleum gas, p-xylylene, industrial sulfuric acid, diesel, fuel oil, phenol, o-cresol, and m-p-cresol. The main production volumes are as follows: 200,000 tons per year of 93# gasoline, 78,000 tons per year of 0# diesel, 147,000 tons per year of liquefied natural gas, 9,600 tons per year of liquefied petroleum gas, 13,000 tons per year of p-toluenes, 8,200 tons per year of phenol, 5,900 tons per year of xylenol, 5,500 tons per year of m-p-cresol, 4,100 tons per year of o-cresol, 44,300 tons per year of sulfuric acid, and 39,200 tons per year of sulfuric anhydride.
