The ammonia synthesis project, which utilizes hydrogen generated as a by-product in the Shuguang Chemical Park, began trial production on March 28, 2022; on April 17 at 18:58, high-quality liquid ammonia with a purity of 99.92% was produced, marking a successful first trial run. This project utilizes advanced domestic technologies for liquid nitrogen washing and fully radial ammonia synthesis towers, and relies on the utility systems, nitrogen, and by-product hydrogen from previously built coal-to-hydrogen plants to produce liquid ammonia. The implementation of the ammonia synthesis project is an important measure for Anhui Shuguang Chemical Group to carry out transformation and upgrading, as well as for continuous improvement. It is of great significance for adjusting the product structure of the industrial park, coping with fluctuations in market conditions, enhancing the resilience of the facilities against risks, and achieving self-sustained recycling of ammonia and alcohol within the company.
