Project construction has fully entered the final stage, laying a solid foundation for its completion and commissioning on schedule. On December 30, 2021, the construction of Furnace No. 2 began, and it was completed after 112 days; this represented the installation of refractory materials for the body of a coke oven with the largest single-chamber volume in China, at 7.6 meters in height. The person in charge of Yunnan Coal & Energy Co., Ltd. stated that during the subsequent construction phase, the company will cooperate closely with all contractors involved, providing mutual support and striving to achieve even better results. With greater enthusiasm, the company will adhere to scientific organization, strict management, and meticulous construction practices to ensure the timely completion of the entire project. The main components of Yunmei Energy Company’s 2 million tons per year coking environmental protection relocation and transformation project include production facilities such as a coal preparation system, a coke processing system, coking equipment, desulfurization and denitrification units, dry quenching facilities, and gas purification systems. This is complemented by a power generation facility that makes use of the remaining coke oven gas, as well as the corresponding auxiliary facilities needed for the entire plant. In line with ultra-low emission environmental standards, the project adopts a systematic approach that combines \"source control, process control, and end-stage treatment\" to enhance the intrinsic safety of the facility from the design stage. It is equipped with comprehensive safety facilities, features separation of the four different areas, and aims to become a modern coking production plant that is \"environment-friendly and garden-like\". Project Overview: On March 1, 2021, Yunmei Energy signed an Investment Attraction Agreement for the company’s 2 million tons per year coking plant environmental protection relocation and transformation project with the People’s Government of Anning City. Yunmei Energy has invested 3.562 billion yuan in the Anning Industrial Park to build an environmental-friendly relocation and transformation project with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons of coke. It is reported that the relocation of the project mainly involves changes in production capacity, technology, and management. Since 1969, Yunmei Energy has been engaged in the production of metallurgical coke and coking products, and over the past 50 years it has accumulated extensive experience in technical management. This relocation represents a significant strategic move by Yunmei Energy in the coking industry, laying the foundation for the company’s transformation and upgrading. According to calculations, after the project goes into operation, during its 20-year production and operation period, it is expected to generate an average annual profit of 417 million yuan, with an average annual income tax payment of 104 million yuan. The total investment return rate will be 12.29%, resulting in a significant improvement in the company’s profitability. Shandong Metallurgical Design Institute Co., Ltd. is the EPC general contractor for the coal and coke preparation system of this project, as well as the designer responsible for the plant-wide utilities and auxiliary systems. The 7.6 m coke oven is the SWJ76-1 type of large-scale, top-loading, green intelligent coke oven developed by Shanye Design in collaboration with the Italian company PW, tailored to the capacity and space requirements of the Yunnan coal coking project. It represents international advanced levels in terms of oven structure, process equipment, automation, and environmental protection standards, and the coke produced meets all the requirements for use in China’s top-large-scale blast furnaces.
