On May 19, the installation of the equipment for the 100,000 tons per year industrial test and demonstration project on coal dry distillation for carbon upgrading, supported by the technology from Qingdao Institute of Energy, was officially carried out at Lan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., marking the full entry of this innovative technology into the phase of industrial demonstration. The launching ceremony was held in Lanzhou New Area. Chen Wenhai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Lan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the entity responsible for implementing the project; Shi Junpeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Shanghai Electric Group Guokong Global Engineering Co., Ltd., the design firm; Lu Xuefeng, Director and Secretary of the Party Committee of the research institute; and Xu Feng, Deputy Director, attended the event. More than 120 people participated, including members of the leadership team of Nengke Group as well as representatives from relevant departments and subsidiaries, as well as those from the Multiphase Catalytic Conversion Research Group and the Intellectual Property and Outcome Transformation Department. After the launching ceremony, Yang Jun, a member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Lanzhou New Area, met with Lu Xuefeng and his party to discuss cooperation in relevant fields. The external-heating vertical coal pyrolysis furnace technology used in this project was independently developed by the Multiphase Catalytic Conversion Research Group at Qingdao Institute of Energy, breaking away from traditional coal processing methods. This technology enables the efficient conversion of lower-grade coal dust through low-temperature dry distillation. Its external-heating design represents a significant innovation in terms of reducing energy consumption and pollutant emissions, offering a new technical model for the clean and efficient use of coal. It holds great significance as a model for promoting technological upgrades in the coal industry and achieving the **\"dual carbon\" goals**. Next, the research team will monitor the entire process of equipment installation and commissioning, ensuring strict control over the quality at each stage, so as to guarantee that the project is completed successfully according to plan and put into production use.
