On August 13, the fifth section of the washing tower, the tallest, largest, and heaviest piece of equipment in the Baofeng methanol project, was slowly lifted and successfully installed with the help of the Third Installation Company of Sinochem Sixth Construction Company. The washing tower of Baofeng’s methanol purification unit is the tallest, largest, and heaviest tower in the entire Baofeng project, and it serves as a landmark facility for the whole project. The wash tower has a bare weight of 1,100 tons, is 110 meters tall, 5 meters in diameter, and has a wall thickness of 80 millimeters; it was lifted in 5 sections. Due to limited space and delays in the delivery of equipment, lifting started with the first section on May 31, and it was not until today that the last section was successfully installed. It took 74 days in total to equip the entire washing tower, weld the ladder platforms, and carry out the lifting and alignment tasks. The fifth section of the washing tower to be lifted this time has a total weight of 185 tons; its height is 16.597 meters, its diameter is 5 meters, and its wall thickness is 80 millimeters. On August 11, the lean methanol cooler for the purification unit of the Baofeng methanol project, operated by the Third Installation Company of Sinochem Sixth Construction, was lifted into place in one go. The methanol-poor coolant tank to be lifted this time is 24.924 meters long, 1.9 meters in diameter, and weighs 91 tons. It will be lifted using a 1200-ton crawler crane as the main lifting device, with a 350-ton crawler crane used for assisting with the lift. Introduction to the Ningxia Baofeng Energy Project: The process optimization involves changing the gasification unit from 30 fixed-bed gasifiers to 6 fluidized-bed gasifiers ； The air separation unit has been changed from 3 sets of 80,000 Nm3/h to 2 sets of 105,000 Nm3/h ； Cancel the cryogenic separation unit ； The low-temperature methanol washing unit, refrigeration station unit, sulfur recovery unit, and methanol synthesis and compression unit have all been changed from 2 sets to 1 set ； The power station was changed from 4 boilers of 500 t/h to 3 boilers of 420 t/h. After optimization, the total number of main equipment units decreased from 1,965 to 1,588, and the land area reduced from 216.4 hectares to 129.2 hectares, resulting in savings of 585,073 million yuan in investment. A 2.2 million tons per year coke gasification methanol production plant, a 600,000 tons per year methanol to olefins plant, a 300,000 tons per year polyethylene plant, a 300,000 tons per year polypropylene plant, along with supporting utility systems and auxiliary facilities. The total investment for the project is 1,527,887 million yuan, of which 1,429,736 million yuan is allocated to construction costs, 11,983 million yuan to working capital for the initial phase, and 86,168 million yuan to interest during the construction period.
