On the morning of November 21, Fang Yitian, director of the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute, led a delegation to Huaxin Gas Group Co., Ltd. During the discussion, both sides presented the historical development, basic situation, and industrial layout. Xiong Zhijian, head of the Science and Technology Planning Department at the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute, gave a detailed report on the overall progress in technological innovation within the institute, while Researcher Jia Litao provided a specialized presentation on the technology for producing ethylene through methane oxidation coupling. Subsequently, the participants had in-depth discussions focusing on areas such as the comprehensive utilization of coalbed methane and carbon capture and utilization. Liu Jun said that Huaxin Gas, as the largest comprehensive gas enterprise under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, boasts significant industrial advantages ； As a professional research institution in China dedicated to coal utilization, the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute boasts strong scientific research capabilities. It is hoped that the two sides will establish a regular communication mechanism to integrate their respective strengths, expand areas of cooperation, share the benefits of technology, and work together to contribute more to the transformative development of Shanxi. Fang Yitian said that the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute has long been based in Shanxi province, with the mission of ensuring **strategic security in energy and national defense, and taking it upon itself to contribute to the high-quality development of Shanxi Province. It maintains a solid foundation of cooperation with provincial-owned enterprises, and plays a key role as a major force in strategic scientific and technological efforts. It is hoped that both sides will continue to deepen cooperation and the translation of achievements into practical applications, integrate the innovation chain with the industrial chain, work together to turn scientific and technological achievements into new forms of productive capacity, and fulfill the roles that the research institutions based in Shanxi and the provincial state-owned enterprises should play.
