In production, there are many pumps; some of them have current displays while others only have control levers. The question is: shouldn’t all pumps have current displays? If not, what is the reason for that, and what is the basis for it? Thank you
It is generally set based on the size of the motor and its importance; There is no ammeter; if you want to know, it can be measured using a clamp ammeter (a portable tool).

Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen much of it, but I still suggest that people shouldn’t casually mention various parameters. If the pump is integrated into the DCS system, is it monitored? Set high and low alarms? How to set it? Operators should not assume whether they need to pay attention to this parameter.
There must be many such cases. In my current installation, the more important pumps and compressors are equipped with both on-site current measurements and remote transmitted current data. The DSC also shows information such as the temperature of the bearings and bearing shells, as well as the temperature of the motor windings. For compressors, additional parameters such as vibration, displacement, and rotational speed are also available. Everyone who enters the DCS needs to be monitored; otherwise, why come in? We don’t have alarms or interlocks for the motor current of the pump, but there are alarms for the bearing temperature, medium temperature, and pressure of the pump
