Linde’s North American subsidiary, LCC, has today released its new oxygen-free atmosphere control system for metal heat treatment, designed to be used in a wider range of metal heat treatment processes. The HYDROFLEXTM system is designed for the heat treatment of various metals, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, brass, and copper, including in the production of pipes, wires, and other components. This system uses nitrogen and argon to maintain the pressure in the heat treatment furnace, and controls the circulation rate of hydrogen to prevent oxidation. By balancing safety and optimizing the use of hydrogen, this system enables flame-free gas mixtures to carry out annealing effectively even with less than 5% hydrogen content. The features of this system include uniform heat distribution, rapid cooling, and automatic purge with safety nitrogen.
