Material reasons, welding quality, stress – these are probably the factors at play
Corrosion is practically non-existent; in my opinion, either there is a problem with the welding, or the stress calculations are insufficient or not properly addressed
This is a flange with a neck for butt welding; it seems like the position of the weld seam isn’t right. With such large-scale cracks, consider the stress factors
I think stress is the main cause——in my company, there are regular cracks on the weld seam and flange neck of the 4MPa, 450°C, DN350 double-reduced flange; the severe pipe vibration is definitely related to stress
It’s split so neatly. . . . Is it that there isn’t excessive R at the butt-welded ends of the flange neck? . . It is mostly caused by operating conditions. . This weld is poor too. .
Even for stress, I’ve never seen it so uniform I think the issue is more likely to be with the base material.
