I would like to ask for advice: The customer is using this system for zero-discharge treatment of desulfurization wastewater. The operating conditions are normal temperature and pressure, and the water contains high concentrations of chloride ions. Rubber-lined butterfly valves were originally used, but crystals form on the valve plates as a result of the calcium oxide reaction, which prevents the valves from opening and closing properly. I would like to know whether ceramic ball valves can prevent this problem under such operating conditions Thank you

Secondly, what is the chloride ion content? For relatively low requirements, conventional stainless steel control valves can be considered; for higher requirements, duplex steel materials are a better choice. However, this increases the cost.
Technically, there’s no problem, but it’s difficult to get the customer to pay for it – the price of a ceramic ball valve is about ten times that of a rubber-lined butterfly valve. He prefers to change them frequently rather than seeing good returns from an investment for a long time: lol
There’s no problem at all in using ceramic valves; many power plants are already using them on a large scale. I have developed many similar solutions for power plants
