Can pipe flanges be buried directly in the ground? Are there any regulatory guidelines?

According to GB50242-2002, section 9.2.3, pipe connection flanges, clamps, buckles, etc. should be installed in inspection wells or trenches, and should not be buried in the soil. In building plumbing systems, flanges are required not to be buried underground, let alone in industrial applications. If you look at Chapter 9 on pipeline anti-corrosion and insulation in the SH3034-2012 \"Code for Design of Water Supply and Drainage Pipelines in Petrochemical Industries\", it only provides guidelines for anti-corrosion measures applicable to pipelines; there are no provisions regarding flanges or similar components. It is assumed that such components should be located in valve chambers, rather than being buried directly in the ground
