The ash of ordinary metal particles is likely to be some oxides or salts; at least there is a significant difference in hardness. It’s better to conduct some small experiments with the actual product; relying solely on personal feelings is a bit too subjective.
Duplex steel exhibits good corrosion resistance, particularly strong resistance to chloride corrosion. However, its performance in the face of erosion caused by metal ash particles containing nickel and vanadium depends on specific environmental conditions such as particle concentration, velocity, temperature, etc., as well as the specific grade of the duplex steel. Nickel and vanadium themselves can cause corrosion in steel under certain conditions; especially in the presence of high temperatures and oxidation, they can accelerate the corrosion process. If the scouring conditions are extremely severe, even duplex steel may be damaged. In practical applications, it is necessary to specifically analyze the type and conditions of corrosion faced, and corrosion resistance tests may also be required to determine whether it can withstand specific scouring conditions. .
