Pipeline butt welding dimensions related

Dear experts, may I ask whether pipelines under 1 inch in diameter can be directly welded, or are pipe clamps required? Are there any relevant standards? Please let me know
Some personal experience: For medium and low pressure pipelines, pipe clamps are advisable, as they can prevent the effects of weld metal from interfering with fluid flow. High-pressure pipelines should be welded by butt welding to ensure welding strength.
It can be welded, or tube clamps can also be used.
