The level of the liquid in the tank used as the working fluid for the vacuum pump should be at the same level as the center (1/2) of the pump chamber. It has been observed that when the suction port of the vacuum pump is fully open, more liquid overflows from the tank; whereas when the suction port is partially closed, less liquid overflows. At the site, it is currently necessary to keep the vacuum level lower (a higher level of vacuum isn’t required, so the exhaust valves will be closed to some extent). It has been observed that less water overflows from the tank, and there is concern that the water might run out.

Our factory has been using this type of pump for over a decade; it provided good vacuum performance. Until last year, when the pump reached the end of its useful life, we replaced it with a new one of the same type, and it worked well at first. But starting in May this year, it was no longer able to achieve the required vacuum level. We checked the airtightness of the system as well. There is suspicion that there is a problem with the pump, but the maintenance department does not think there is any issue with it.
1. If the hermeticity of the system is fine, then there must be a problem with the pump; it’s possible that foreign objects have entered the pump. 2. You can also try replacing the circulating water; although the temperature of the circulating water meets the requirements, it may still contain volatile substances mixed in it.
What is the quality of the water? Could there be crystals on the impeller or the end plates?
Is the plate heat exchanger not providing good heat exchange performance? What about the quality of the circulating water? And are there any crystals inside the pump?
Are the axial clearances on both sides of the impeller and in the housing too large, resulting in a decrease in pumping efficiency?
The key maintenance department refuses to service the pump. The circulating water is clean.
It has excellent heat exchange performance, the water temperature is at the required level, and the water quality is clean. The air we extracted contained dust, and we suspected that scaling might have formed on the impeller; after flushing it with hot water, the water coming out was clean.
