I have a question regarding E+H mass flow meters. Our company is using the 89F model, and we currently have two of them in use. Without any changes in flow rate, pressure, or temperature, these meters suddenly stopped showing any flow data. The error code displayed on site was #705, and it indicated that the flow rate was outside the acceptable range. The medium being measured is phthalic anhydride in liquid form, with a freezing point of 131°C. The flow meter is equipped with a thermal jacket for heating; the operating temperature of the phthalic anhydride liquid is around 190°C. This fault occurs under normal conditions. What could be the cause, and how can it be resolved?

1 First, disconnect the flow meter to see if it can return to zero. 2 If it can return to zero normally and the alarm goes away, gradually open the valve to see if the flow rate increases; this will help determine whether there is indeed an over-range condition. 3 If the alarm persists even after turning it off, check whether the connections of the sensor and the conversion circuit board are loose, and also verify that the sensor’s insulation and resistance values are normal. If you keep reporting issues like this, you won’t be able to use it either. All that’s left to do is check whether there’s a problem with the power supply module; if there’s no issue, then replace the transmitter motherboard and test it. If there’s no problem with the transmitter motherboard as well, then it’s a problem with the sensor part
