There are 3 tanks on site, with a total height of 4 meters; the tanks are sealed, equipped with vent valves, and protected by nitrogen, keeping the pressure within the range of -5 to 5 KPaz. Outdoor temperature is 38 degrees, Guangdong. The tank has insulation, including at the top as well. The instruments have been in use for 18 months. For Tank 1, the level gauge shows a level of 2.95 meters; the temperature of the liquid is 32 degrees. The level fluctuates between 8 and 14 units, following an upward trend, with fluctuations within 0.06 meters. Tank 2 Level Gauge: Display value: 0.5 meters; liquid level temperature: 32 degrees; level fluctuation range: 8 to 14 points; upward trend, with fluctuations within 0.1 meter. Tank 3 Level Gauge: Display value: 0.25 meters; liquid level temperature: 32 degrees; level fluctuation range: 8 to 14 points; upward trend, with fluctuations within 0.25 meters, as shown in the figure. Customer feedback: The fluctuations are too large; how to explain this?
High temperatures in summer are a common cause of fluctuations in liquid level gauges
It needs to be checked before a judgment can be made. First, check whether the pressure entering the tank fluctuates and whether the load is stable. If there are no issues with the input and output, then examine whether the level gauge is functioning properly.
As temperatures rise in summer, the thermal expansion and contraction of nitrogen and the medium inside the tank cause pressure changes, which may lead to fluctuations in liquid level. It is recommended to check whether the breathing valve is functioning properly to ensure stable pressure inside the tank. At the same time, check whether the level gauge itself requires calibration or maintenance. .
What level gauge? Installation method? What is the medium? How is the nitrogen sealing? Is there significant vaporization? Does the breathing valve discharge frequently? What type of pressure transmitter is used for the tank (with a range of -5 to 5 KPA)? Are there large pressure fluctuations? If so, does the breathing valve operate often, resulting in fluctuations in liquid level? Is it a double-flange design? ).

Analyze the properties of the medium in the three storage tanks, the installation of capillaries, and whether the upper and lower flanges are insulated
