Recently, Yankuang Group’s Shaanxi Future Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. and Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the EPC contract related to the “Industrialization Pilot Project for Comprehensive Utilization” at Hualu’s headquarters in Xi’an. Sun Qiwen, chairman of Shaanxi Future Energy and general manager of Shanghai Yankuang Energy Technology, and Han Bing, general manager of Hualu Engineering Technology, signed the contract on behalf of their respective companies. To accelerate and promote the large-scale development of the coal-to-oil industry, Yankuang Group Shaanxi Future Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. launched an industrialization test project for comprehensive utilization. The project is constructed within the 1 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction demonstration plant of Shaanxi Future Energy, and it mainly includes two units: high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and catalyst reduction. The main raw materials and utility systems for this project are drawn from the first-phase 1 million-ton coal indirect liquefaction project, while the synthesis and catalyst reduction units are designed based on the existing pilot plant with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons ; Products such as the high-temperature condensate and low-temperature condensate produced by the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis are sent to the first-phase oil processing unit ; The reaction water passes through the reaction water distillation unit, where the mixed alcohol is separated; this mixed alcohol is then sent to the mixed alcohol storage tank ; The reaction off-gases are sent to the Phase I decarburization unit. During the ceremony, Shanghai Yankuang Technology also signed an \"exclusive strategic cooperation agreement on FTO-based oil production technology\" with Hualu Technology. The F-T synthesis oil production technology is a low- and high-temperature technique for the indirect liquefaction of coal, independently developed by Shanghai Yankuang Energy Technology R&D Co., Ltd., which is affiliated with Yankuang Group. Since 2012, Hualu Technology has worked closely with Shanghai Yankuang Energy Technology R&D Co., Ltd. to contribute to the refinement and improvement of the process technologies for high- and low-temperature F-T synthesis pilot projects, as well as to the engineering design of such pilot projects ; In the first-phase demonstration project for coal-to-oil production with a capacity of one million tons in Yulin, operated by Yankuang, Hualu Technology was responsible for the design of the core Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit. Through the joint efforts of both parties, the project was successfully commissioned on August 21, 2015, and it won the Quality Project Award from the National Chemical Engineering Association. Shanghai Yankuang Energy Technology R&D Co., Ltd. has decided to enter into an exclusive agreement with Hualu Technology regarding this technology, in order to promote the further development of cooperation between the two parties. Hualu Technology stated that it will take the construction of the \"comprehensive industrialization test project\" as an opportunity to work closely with Yankuang’s R&D and technical teams in order to carry out the EPC contract work to a high standard, ensuring the successful completion and commissioning of the project. This will also lay a solid foundation for the future expansion of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis units in Yankuang Group’s 4 million tons per year coal-to-oil project. At present, the overall design for the follow-up phase of Phase I of Shaanxi Future Yulin Coal Indirect Liquefaction Project (a coal-to-oil project with an annual capacity of 4 million tons) has been initiated. The project will be constructed in the northern area of the Yuheng Industrial Zone, Qinhé Town, Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. With a total investment of 69.8 billion yuan, it aims to build a coal indirect liquefaction facility with an annual capacity of 4 million tons, along with a coal mining facility capable of producing 10 million tons per year. The main units of the project include: coal gasification, gas purification, air separation, a 2 million tons/year low-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit, a 2 million tons/year high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit, as well as downstream refining units for producing PAO at 100,000 tons/year, ethylene and propylene through deep cryogenic separation at 500,000 tons/year, hydrogenation at 3.3 million tons/year, hydroisomerization at 2 million tons/year, aromatization for viscosity reduction at 300,000 tons/year, cyclic fluidized bed aromatization at 800,000 tons/year, alkylation at 100,000 tons/year, and MTBE at 100,000 tons/year.
