On February 24, Donghua Technology and Anhui Youshun New Materials Co., Ltd. successfully signed an engineering design contract for a project to produce 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year in Lujiang (with the first phase involving the production of 600,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year), and held the first design coordination meeting for the project. Ye Ping, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of Donghua Technology, and Feng Yin, director and general manager of Anhui Youshun New Materials Co., Ltd., signed the contract on behalf of their respective companies. Yu Desheng, Secretary and Director of the Party Working Committee of Longqiao Industrial Park in Lujiang County, Hong Xiaolong, Deputy Director, along with the key members of the project teams from both sides, attended the signing ceremony. Feng Yin highly praised Donghua Technology’s leading position in the domestic industry of producing ethylene glycol from syngas, and expressed the hope that both parties could work together closely during the project construction, leverage their respective strengths, and achieve mutual success through cooperation. Ye Ping expressed his gratitude to the owners for their great trust in Donghua Technology. He said that as a key project in Hefei, the company attaches great importance to it and will go all out to assemble a team of top performers. While ensuring proper epidemic prevention measures are in place, the company will work closely with all parties involved in the project to make it a benchmark project in the ethylene glycol industry. Given the project timeline requirements and the current needs related to epidemic prevention and control, Ye Ping stated that Donghua Technology will make full use of remote collaboration platforms to carry out design work efficiently, ensuring that efforts to combat the epidemic and production activities proceed simultaneously without disruption. It is reported that Anhui Youshun New Materials Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Tongkun Holding Group. The project for producing 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year is located in the Longqiao Industrial Park in Lujiang County, with a total investment of 11.4 billion yuan and an area of about 1,800 mu; the construction will take place in two phases. The project utilizes the SEG technology developed by the Donghua Technology and Gaoxue Chemical consortium, with optimizations and innovations applied to the key equipment. The successful signing of this project further consolidates Donghua Technology’s leading position in the syngas-based ethylene glycol industry; it represents a major breakthrough for the company in terms of scaling up ethylene glycol production facilities, and holds significant importance for future market expansion.
