Recently, the DN4000 deoxidation reactor for the converter gas in the ethylene glycol project in Quwo, Shanxi, which was manufactured by Hangzhou Linda Chemical Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully loaded and shipped. This reactor is one of the core reactors for purifying converter gas in the project to produce ethylene glycol from coke oven off-gases, and it features a large catalyst loading capacity as well as high reaction heat per unit concentration of gas. This reactor is Linde’s third large-scale isothermal reactor with a diameter of ≥4000 mm; it utilizes a new structure developed by the company to simplify manufacturing, and is widely used in devices for gas deoxidation, purification and detoxification, as well as the production of dimethyl ether from methanol dehydration. The comprehensive waste gas utilization project of Shanxi Woneng Chemical Co., Ltd., which aims to produce 300,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol along with LNG, uses coke oven gas and converter gas generated as by-products by Shanxi Liheng Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. as raw materials. The CTEG technology developed by Gaochemical and Donghua Technology is employed to produce 300,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol, while also generating 156 million cubic meters per year of LNG. Donghua Technology is responsible for the engineering design of this project.
