Design work for Luchi sewage treatment system in Datang Keqi coal-to-natural gas project has commenced. Author/Source: Date: 2017-08-17 Clicks: 32 Recently, after months of intensive effort, the technical agreement regarding the process design and technical solutions for the sewage treatment optimization and renovation project, which is the most important component of the Datang Keqi improvement project, was finally signed in Ningbo. This marks the official start of the engineering design work for this sewage treatment optimization and renovation project. Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid in September 2016 for the engineering design and on-site service contract for Sino-Singapore Energy Chemicals, which covers four factories under Sino-Singapore Energy Chemicals: Keqi Coal-to-Gas, Dolun Coal Chemicals, Hulunbuir Fertilizer, and Fuxin Coal-to-Gas. The scope of work under the contract includes engineering consultation, engineering design, technical services, and preparation of as-built drawings. Design services include attending various meetings, conducting technical negotiations, preparing technical documents, and preparing procurement documents. It is reported that the coal-to-gas production process at Datang Keqi uses the Lurgi furnace technology. Since its commissioning, the biochemical wastewater generated by the sewage treatment system has not met the design specifications, which in turn prevents the subsequent zero-emission treatment stages from fulfilling their processing requirements; this has become a bottleneck hindering the proper operation of the entire plant. Gas water treatment has always been a bottleneck in the Lurgi furnace process; currently, there are no better and effective treatment methods available, either domestically or internationally, and the process of making improvements is extremely difficult. Since it began working on the technological upgrade project in Keqi in 2016, Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. has visited the site in person and reviewed a large amount of information. Together with the factory’s technical department, it thoroughly analyzed the problems related to the water system, determined the objectives for the upgrades, and carefully considered various renovation plans. After two months of technical discussions, a technical agreement regarding the process design was finally signed, laying a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the subsequent engineering work.
