According to Sinochem New Network, in November, Shaanxi Shenhua Coal Chemical Group Co., Ltd. reduced its coal consumption per ton of steam to 97.87 kilograms, which is 0.06 kilograms less than the best figure achieved in July; this figure is significantly better than the industry benchmarks for the petrochemical sector. Shaanxi Chemical Corporation has a total of 3 260-ton/hour circulating fluidized bed boilers that supply steam to the production units. Focusing on the key parameter affecting the thermal efficiency of the boilers – the flue gas temperature – the company established a task force to carry out targeted measures. It completed the calibration and repair of the boiler soot blowers, and continuously optimized the soot blowing strategies under different load conditions and coal qualities, thereby reducing the flue gas temperature of Boilers No. 2 and No. 3. On this basis, Boiler No. 2 adopted the comprehensive utilization of purified gas and fuel gas produced as by-products from chemical plants; as a result, coal consumption was reduced by 720 tons in November, generating benefits of 485,000 yuan. At the same time, the task force explored the use of alternative coal types in combustion. By carefully calculating the optimal proportions of different coal types to be used and their associated economic benefits, it was possible to minimize fuel procurement costs while ensuring the stable operation of the boilers, resulting in economic savings of 645,000 yuan.
