A few days ago, the “Comprehensive Treatment of Coal Chemical Industry Wastewater and Near-Zero Discharge Technology” project, which is part of Sinopec’s “Ten Dragon” scientific research program and was carried out jointly by Shanghai Engineering Company of the Refining and Chemical Engineering Group, Sinopec Great Wall Energy & Chemical, Zhongtian Hechuang, and other organizations, passed the project acceptance review organized by Sinopec’s Science and Technology Department. Based on the Zhongtian Hechuang wastewater treatment system, this project aims to achieve advanced technology and minimal economic costs through a wastewater near-zero discharge approach, thereby developing a fully integrated process technology that includes pre-treatment, super-concentration, nanofiltration for salt separation, further concentration, and crystallization based on the different properties of the wastewater. The experts present for the acceptance review unanimously agreed that the project team had achieved its objectives and approved the acceptance of the project. During the project implementation, the project team developed a set of process technologies for near-zero wastewater discharge in coal chemical industries, consisting of \"pre-treatment + reduction + pre-treatment + deep concentration + miscellaneous salts crystallization\". They also innovated the pre-treatment techniques to achieve simultaneous removal of hardness, silicon, fluorine, and turbidity, thereby ensuring the stability of the subsequent membrane units in operation. At the same time, the project team completed the development of a near-zero wastewater discharge process package with a capacity of 2,000 tons per hour, as well as industrial application tests; the cost of treating one ton of raw water was no more than 16 yuan. It is reported that Zhongtian Hechuang uses this technology to treat saline wastewater from coal chemical industries; the industrial operation is stable, with continuous production of crystalline salts. On this basis, the project team developed a technical package for the comprehensive treatment of coal chemical industry wastewater and the production of salt with near-zero emissions through differentiated treatment processes.
