Recently, Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. issued a announcement regarding the candidates selected for the PC general contracting of the construction of the dimethyl oxalate unit as part of the first phase of Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shaanxi Coal Group’s coal utilization project aimed at producing new chemical materials, with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol. On March 2, 2020, Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. learned from the Shaanxi Procurement and Bidding Network (http://www.sntba.com) that it had been identified as the first candidate to win the bid for the PC general contracting of the dimethyl oxalate production facility as part of the first phase of the demonstration project for the utilization of coal to produce new chemical materials, with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, carried out by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “this project”). Project Name: PC General Contracting for the Construction of the Dimethyl Oxalate Unit in Phase 1 of the Demonstration Project on the Utilization of Coal at Different Grades to Produce New Chemical Materials, with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, owned by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shaanxi Coal Yulin”). Project Overview: This project involves using coal as a raw material to build an facility with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol; the construction work includes facilities for coal gasification, syngas purification, the production of ethylene dimethanol oxide, and ethylene glycol, along with related supporting systems. The plant has an capacity of 1.8 million tons per year of ethylene glycol, and it utilizes the methylene oxalate hydrogenation process for the production of ethylene glycol, a technology developed through collaboration between High Chemical Co., Ltd., Donghua Technology, and other companies. The entire plant is divided into three series in total; among them, there are 3 sets for ethylene glycol production, with each set capable of producing 600,000 tons of EG per year ; 3 sets of ethylene glycol distillation units, with each unit capable of processing 600,000 tons of EG per year. The intermediate handover is scheduled to take place on April 30, 2021.
