At 23:00 on May 16, the oxygen-enriched air compressor at Sinochem Fuling Ammonia Synthesis Plant completed its no-load test run successfully. The compressor has a rated power of 5500 KW, a maximum speed of 27,490 r/min, a rated flow rate of 37,100 m3/h, and an outlet operating pressure of 3.74 Mpa; all performance parameters were within normal ranges. To date, the ammonia synthesis plant has completed the no-load testing of all large-scale compression units, laying a solid foundation for the smooth commissioning of the ammonia synthesis facility. The oxygen-enriched air compressor is a key core equipment in ammonia synthesis plants. It uses a multi-axis centrifugal compressor to supply oxygen-enriched air for the conversion and gas generation process; this air is mixed with combustible gases for combustion, thereby providing the heat required for gas production as well as the nitrogen needed for ammonia synthesis.
