On the morning of August 14, construction started on Inner Mongolia Dongri New Energy Materials Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 1.25 million tons per year of new energy materials using a coal-based approach, in the Etoke Economic Development Zone. The project for producing 1.25 million tons per year of new energy materials based on coal is being built by Inner Mongolia Dongri New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. at an investment of 12.4 billion yuan; it covers an area of 2,200 mu and represents a project related to new energy materials in the field of strategic emerging industries. New energy materials based on the coal route use the abundant coal tar available in Ordos City and throughout the autonomous region as raw material, and employ internationally advanced process technologies to produce large-sized, ultra-high power electrodes, new types of lithium battery anode materials, synthetic ammonia, and other products. Upon completion of the project, three coal chemical industry chains will be established, including coal-based graphite electrodes and lithium batteries ; Coal-based activated carbon ; Coal-based synthetic ammonia production extends the value-added chain of coal processing and increases its added value. Upon completion of the project, it is expected to generate annual sales revenue of nearly 23.7 billion yuan and tax revenues of around 1.5 billion yuan, while creating more than 6,000 job opportunities for the society.
