Zhejiang Energy Group made investments in Xintian Coal Chemicals and Yili No. 4 Mine simultaneously. Author/Source: Huahua Net Coal Chemicals; Date: 2019-06-18; Clicks: 60. Recently, Zhejiang Energy Group’s simultaneous investments in these two companies mark a new phase in the deep cooperation between Xin Kuang Group and Zhejiang Energy Group on coal-to-gas integration projects. Following the management philosophy of the group company’s coal-to-gas integration project, which emphasizes \"joint operation, unified management, coordinated planning, and integrated operation,\" Yili Energy has held several meetings with Xintian Coal Chemical to explore new models for the management and operation of coal-to-gas projects through joint efforts. After multiple rounds of discussions and negotiations, the two parties reached a further consensus on advancing the integration project toward deeper integration. Recently, Zhejiang Energy Group made substantial capital injections into two affiliated companies involved in the integrated project – Xintian Coal Chemical and Yili No. 4 Mine – thereby providing strong financial support for the production and operation of this integrated project. This has enhanced the ability to cope with financial risks during the project’s implementation, offering solid financial backing for its successful operation. It is reported that, in line with its project philosophy of integrated coexistence and unified operation, Yili Energy focuses on improving the degree of coal agglomeration. It has established a joint task force with Xintian Coal Chemical to collaborate with various external professional organizations in the fields of coal chemistry and coal mining production, in order to explore measures to enhance the degree of coal agglomeration and reduce the particle size of raw coal before it is fed into the furnaces throughout the entire process of coal extraction, transportation, and coal-to-gas conversion. This approach aims to further improve the utilization rate of raw coal and ensure that Xintian Coal Chemical’s two production lines can operate at full capacity. The Yili Xintian Coal-to-Gas Project is located in the Yili Xintian Coal Chemical Industry Park in Yining City, Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It produces 2 billion cubic meters of pure natural gas per year, with by-products including 31,000 tons of light hydrocarbons, 100,000 tons of heavy aromatics, 84,000 tons of polyhydrocarbons, 25,000 tons of polyphenols, and 116,000 tons of thiamine. The project can convert 6.77 million tons of coal into 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, which is sent to Zhejiang and accounts for about one-third of Zhejiang’s current natural gas consumption. The Xintian Coal Chemical Coal-to-Natural Gas Project is currently the largest coal-to-natural gas facility of its kind that has been built in the world. It is designed to produce 2.04 billion cubic meters of coal-to-natural gas per year, with a annual coal consumption of 6.38 million tons. The total investment in the project amounts to 16.09 billion yuan, funded jointly by Zhejiang Energy Group Co., Ltd. and Shandong Energy Xinwen Mining Group Co., Ltd. In March 2017, Project A of the coal-to-natural gas facility began trial operation, setting a record for the shortest time required, stable performance, and successful completion on the first attempt ; In conjunction with this, the Yili No. 4 Mine, designed with an annual production capacity of 6 million tons, began trial production simultaneously, and the first mining face underwent a successful joint trial operation. In June 2017, Series B of the coal-to-natural gas project was put into operation, running smoothly.
