The lifting of the first large-scale equipment for Shanxi Meijin Coal Chemical’s hydrogen production project using coke oven gas was completed. On March 15, 2021, the first large-scale equipment for this project – the pure oxygen converter – was successfully lifted, marking the beginning of the installation of large-scale equipment for this project and indicating that it has entered a new phase of equipment installation work. The equipment to be lifted this time is a pure oxygen converter; it is 17 meters tall and has a net weight of 79.102 tons. Lifting is carried out using two cranes – a 400-ton crawler crane as the main crane, along with a 150-ton crawler crane to assist in the lifting process. Given the high technical requirements and difficulties associated with lifting large-scale equipment, and in order to ensure the safe and successful completion of such lifting operations, the project team organized several special meetings with relevant parties, based on the actual conditions on site, to carefully discuss and review the technical plans for lifting the large-scale equipment as well as the safety measures to be implemented. At the same time, active efforts are made to contact and coordinate the technical service personnel from the equipment manufacturers to provide on-site guidance, ensuring that the equipment is installed accurately and without any defects. During the lifting process, the project team members supervised, directed, and coordinated everything on site throughout the entire operation. They imposed strict requirements on the lifting company to ensure that safety measures related to people, machinery, and materials were properly implemented, and that the lifting procedures were followed strictly in accordance with the relevant technical specifications. Attention was paid to maintaining high construction quality and precision in installation, and difficulties at the construction site were overcome, ultimately allowing the lifting work to be completed successfully – thus marking the start of the intensive installation phase. All members of the project team will make a concerted effort, keep pushing forward, and strive hard. With a rigorous work attitude, a solid work style, and scientific working methods, they will complete all subsequent tasks with high quality and efficiency. Project Overview: The hydrogen production project using coke oven gas is for which Jinjia (Hangzhou) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. provides the general construction management services. The Management Committee of Jinzhong Development Zone in the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Area, Shanxi Meijin Energy Co., Ltd., and Zhongke Fuhai Low-Temperature Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation framework agreement in Beijing. The three parties have agreed to work together to promote a green transformation in the production of hydrogen from coke oven gas, and to carry out demonstration projects covering the entire industry chain – including hydrogen liquefaction, storage and transportation of liquid hydrogen, refueling, and its applications – in the Jinzhong Development Zone of the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Area. Currently, Meijin Energy is exploring two industrial ecosystem loops in Shanxi, aiming to establish two new models of development and pave a new path for the transformation and growth of energy enterprises, thereby helping Shanxi fulfill its historical mission of leading the energy revolution. First is the collaborative development model between the coal and coke sector and the hydrogen energy sector. By building hydrogen production plants, the coke oven gas generated from Meijin’s current 7.15 million tons per year of coke production capacity can be used to produce 64,000 tons of high-purity hydrogen. Build a hydrogen station network to create a complete hydrogen energy supply chain covering production, storage, transportation, and refueling. Zhongqing Huanyu and Zhongqing Jinghui, subsidiaries of Meijin Energy, have been officially incorporated into the hydrogen storage, transportation, and supply system for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Build a hydrogen energy industrial park to produce high-power, high-efficiency hydrogen fuel cell stacks and systems, as well as hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles. Build hydrogen energy technology innovation centers and testing centers, promote the localization of key core components through independent research and development, and foster collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions. The second is the circular development model for the hydrogen fuel heavy truck industry chain. On the application side, Shanxi is a key region for the use of heavy trucks, and it has unique advantages for carrying out demonstrations and promotions of hydrogen fuel cell-powered heavy trucks; alone, Meijin Energy’s coal and coking business has a demand of tens of thousands of such vehicles ; On the production side, Feichi Motors, a subsidiary of Meijin, boasts leading domestic capabilities in the research, development, and production of hydrogen-powered trucks ; Within the industrial chain ecosystem, coke oven gas offers advantages in terms of large-scale production, low costs, and high efficiency for hydrogen generation; hydrogen refueling networks provide the necessary support, while intelligent freight logistics platforms enable networked operation of heavy trucks. This creates a closed-loop ecosystem that encompasses \"upstream hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and refueling – midstream research, development, production, and sales of hydrogen-powered heavy trucks – and downstream demonstration, operation, and management.\"
