At 5 p.m. on October 26, the lower section of the low-temperature methanol (1401-T-001) shift gas scrubber tower, part of the purification unit for Yushen Energy’s coal-based ethanol project, was successfully installed, with Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. acting as the general contractor for this task. It is reported that this tower is the tallest and heaviest piece of equipment in the methanol complex. The tower was delivered in three sections, and what was lifted this time was the lower section of the tower; it was lifted using an 850-ton crawler crane as the main lifting device, with a 450-ton crawler crane assisting in the lifting process. Next, the ring joints of the lower section will be welded together to create the conditions necessary for installing the middle and upper sections. At present, the middle and upper sections of the tower have arrived, and pipe supports will be installed on the ground this week. Subsequently, preparatory work for on-ground fabrication will be carried out, including the installation of pipelines attached to the tower and the construction of the insulation layer. The installation and completion of the entire tower body for the shifted gas scrubber is planned for mid-November.
