Chronicle of the Construction of Huayi Industrial Gas Island Project. Author/Source: Yahuah Coal Chemicals. Date: 12-06-2019. Clicks: 8. Importance: The first phase of Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Materials Integrated Base project fills a gap in the coal-based industry; by 2025, it is aimed to develop, through this project, a petrochemical new materials base in Qinzhou that will serve as a national benchmark for industries involving carbon-1, carbon-2, carbon-3, carbon-4 compounds, and aromatics. This is of great significance for Guangxi in terms of accelerating the development of its petrochemical industry chain, forming a petrochemical industry cluster along the Beibu Gulf, and creating a first-class petrochemical industry base in Qinzhou. Total investment: approximately 12.1 billion yuan. Project location: Within the Qinzhou Port Petrochemical Industrial Park. Construction scale and main contents: Construct an oxygen production plant with a capacity of 240,000 Nm3/h, gasification and purification units for (CO+H2) with a capacity of 644,000 Nm3/h along with CO separation facilities; a hydrogen production plant with a capacity of 300,000 Nm3/h; as well as facilities for producing 1 million tons per year of methanol, 200,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol, 500,000 tons per year of acetic acid, and 22,500 tons per year of sulfur – along with related auxiliary facilities. Progress: All EPC tenders and contract signings have been completed, as well as the ordering of all long-term equipment; the total contract value is approximately 7.4 billion yuan. The pile foundation construction for the entire plant has been largely completed, and work on the foundation structure has begun. The framing columns for the first floor of the gasification unit have been poured, the steel structure of the acetic acid unit is being installed, and earthwork excavation is underway for the purification and ethylene glycol units. At present, the industrial gas island project is planned to require an investment of 14.3 billion yuan; 10 billion yuan worth of contracts have already been signed, accounting for 70% of the target amount. Meanwhile, more than 2 billion yuan in various advance payments have been made, and the construction of the project is progressing smoothly.
