It is reported that since May, the recirculation valve body of pump E for boiler feed water at this facility has been leaking. The inspection revealed that the issue was caused by a poor fit at the mating surface of the dynamic seal (packing) of the recirculation valve body. The recirculation valve body for this feed water pump is an imported component, and the repair cost amounts to 100,000 yuan. Adhering to the principle of \"saving wherever possible,\" the center decided to undertake the repair work on its own. “We actively contacted a valve repair company, successfully removed the gland seal assembly, and drew diagrams of the inner and outer ring seals. On May 9, the fabricated seal components were reinstalled for trial operation, and to date the pump has been running stably. The cost of this repair was only 1,000 yuan. ”Zhao Dailin, the person in charge of the center, explained. This replacement of seals has provided the company with valuable experience for maintaining such equipment in the future.
