On August 17, the relocation and transformation project of Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development Co., Ltd. completed the dual-circuit power supply for the 220kV substation located on Tengfei Road, marking the completion of a key milestone related to the utility infrastructure for this project. This development provides a solid foundation for the project to enter the handover phase in September, with the goal of completing the handover of all facilities by the end of the year. The various departments of the Economic Development Zone Management Committee attached great importance to the power supply arrangements for Bohua’s project related to the relocation and transformation in line with the principles of industrialization and informatization. They worked closely with State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company, providing proactive support and coordination at every stage – from the planning and design of the external power supply infrastructure to its construction and connection – in order to overcome the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that the project’s power connection was completed ahead of schedule. The Bohua \"Two Transformations\" relocation and renovation project is a key project in Tianjin, as well as an important industrial project for the Nangang Industrial Zone to develop into a world-class base for chemical new materials. The total investment amounts to 29.4 billion yuan, with a total land area of 3.05 square kilometers. The Bohua \"two-industry\" relocation and transformation project takes the olefin plant and caustic soda plant as its industrial foundations, and subsequently develops downstream industries. It expands the product chain of chemical plants to include methanol-to-olefins, caustic soda/VCM/PVC, PO/SM co-production, polypropylene, and hydrogen peroxide, as well as the utility systems, storage and transportation facilities, auxiliary production equipment, overall administrative areas for the plant, logistics systems, and off-site projects that support all these production units. Once completed, this project will play a significant role in optimizing the urban space and industrial layout of the Binhai New Area, as well as enhancing the agglomeration capabilities and competitive strength of its industries and ports.
