Song Cheng, Secretary of the Guazhou County Party Committee, attended the groundbreaking ceremony and delivered a speech to announce the start of the project. This project is a methanol-polydimethyl ether production facility built in the Liugou Coal Chemical Industry Park in Guazhou, funded by Kairui Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., the largest domestic producer of resin catalysts, with an investment of 1.46 billion yuan. The project will be constructed in three phases; it is planned that by the end of this year, two of the projects – the 30,000-ton alcohol ether project, the 2,000-ton TMPDE project, the 500-ton APE project, and the 3,000-ton succinic acid project – will be completed and put into operation, generating sales revenue of 200–300 million yuan and profits and taxes of 40 million yuan. Phase 2 is scheduled for construction next year, with a focus on producing 200,000 tons of methanol and 100,000 tons of dimethyl oxide; it is expected to be completed by the end of 2021, generating an output value of 1 billion and profits and taxes of 200 million. Phase III of the project focuses on the integrated utilization of low-grade coal in combination with methanol production, and planning is currently underway.
