According to Sinochem New Network, from May 28th to 29th, a networking and integration event for the high-end chemical coal tar industry chain in Shandong Province was successfully held in Zaozhuang City. This event is organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and is jointly hosted by the Shandong High-End Chemical Industry Development Promotion Association and the Zaozhuang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology. Wang Hui, a member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Zaozhuang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, said that the deep processing of coal tar is a key strength in Zaozhuang’s high-end chemical industry, and it serves as an important element in the city’s \"432\" industrial chain management system. This event is aligned with the goals of strengthening high-end supply chains, extending value chains at the end points, and enhancing overall chain resilience. It creates platforms for collaboration between governments and enterprises, as well as between schools and enterprises, to facilitate precise matching of supply and demand and efficient coordination of resources, thereby helping the industry transition toward a greener, more refined, and higher-quality direction. During the keynote speech session, Wang Yan, director of the Coking Research Institute at the Coal Science Academy and a researcher, analyzed the current situation of the coal tar industry and proposed strategies for high-quality development. In the thematic presentation sessions, new technologies, solutions, and models were shared in areas such as the construction of pilot bases for new materials, compliance requirements for chemical products when exported overseas, big data analysis of industrial chains, intelligent operation and maintenance of pumps, low-carbon applications of high-temperature heat pumps, and corrosion protection for coal chemical equipment. These efforts aim to inject new momentum into aspects such as the intelligent transformation of the industry, energy conservation and carbon reduction, market expansion, and compliant international operations. During the demand announcement phase, the leading enterprises in the coal tar industry, Xuecheng Energy of Shandong Weijiao Group and Zaozhuang Jiefuyi Zhenxing Chemical, sequentially announced their cooperation needs. They sent out signals for collaboration in various areas such as ensuring a stable supply of raw materials, expanding product markets, maintaining intelligent equipment, upgrading production processes, fostering cooperation between industry, academia, and research institutions, and pursuing green and low-carbon development. By clearly defining the directions for cooperation and the specific requirements, they provided valuable guidance for achieving an accurate match between supply and demand within the industrial chain as well as for optimizing resource utilization. The guests also visited the Xuecheng Chemical Industry Park in person. They inspected two key enterprises in the industry chain: Zaozhuang Jiefuyi Zhenxing Chemical and Shandong Weijiao Group Xuecheng Energy. They went into the production workshops, explosion control rooms, and core production facilities to closely examine the entire process of coal tar deep processing, the application of green and low-carbon technologies, the development of smart factories, and the achievements in circular economy development. This allowed them to directly experience the advantages of industrial clustering in the park as well as the strong capabilities of these key enterprises, laying a solid foundation for future targeted collaborations and in-depth partnerships. Zhang Liucheng, secretary-general of the Shandong Province High-End Chemical Industry Development Promotion Association, explained that the coal tar industry chain empowers emerging sectors such as fine chemicals, high-tech new materials, and clean energy sources, driving the industry upward along the value chain. It serves as the core engine for promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the province’s chemical industry and enabling an upgrade in its industrial capabilities. This event not only represents a practical effort to implement the province’s \"Chain Leader System\" and carry forward the \"Ten Chains, Hundred Groups, Ten Thousand Enterprises\" initiative, but it also serves to remove obstacles in the industry, address existing shortcomings, pool intellectual resources, and jointly build an industrial ecosystem characterized by cooperation and mutual prosperity. This event creates a platform for connecting supply and demand, effectively strengthening industrial chains and removing bottlenecks in the industry. Jing Fangkai, deputy director of the Service System Construction Department at the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, said that this matchmaking event accelerates the connection of talents, technologies, and orders within the province’s high-end chemical coal tar industry chain. It fosters cooperation and exchange, deepens coordination between different stages of this industry chain, and encourages enterprises to bring in more high-level talent and advanced technologies in order to improve the performance and quality of their products. It also helps to strengthen the ecosystem for the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises. The provincial department will continue to provide policy support, planning, and service guarantees to fully assist the improvement and development of Zaozhuang’s coal tar industry chain, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the province’s industrial economy.
