Negotiations for the PC contracts for the dimethyl oxalate unit and the ethylene glycol unit of Yulin Chemical’s 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol production project were completed. From March 12 to 21, the negotiations for the PC contracts related to the dimethyl oxalate unit and the ethylene glycol unit as part of the first phase of Yulin Chemical’s demonstration project for the utilization of coal in order to produce new chemical materials, with a production capacity of 1.8 million tons per year, were successfully concluded. The heads of relevant departments at the company, such as the Ethylene Glycol Department, Technical Management Department, HSSE Management Department, and Business Department, along with relevant leaders and technical personnel from Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., attended the negotiations. The negotiations lasted for 10 days. Throughout this period, both parties focused on the company’s “21630” goal, and with an attitude of fairness, impartiality, and friendly cooperation, they held discussions on aspects such as the scope of work, equipment procurement, and standardized construction, eventually reaching a basic consensus. Subsequently, the project leader of Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. delivered a speech, pledging to strictly abide by the contract and to actively communicate and cooperate with all parties involved in the project, striving to turn this project into a benchmark in the ethylene glycol industry. It is reported that the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol production facility includes dimethyl oxalate production units, ethylene glycol production plants, and related supporting facilities. This plant utilizes the process technology for producing ethylene glycol via the hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate, which was developed through collaboration between High Chemical Co., Ltd., Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and other companies. The entire facility is divided into three series: there are 9 sets for the synthesis of dimethyl oxalate, with each set capable of producing 420,000 tons of DMO per year ; 3 sets for dimethyl oxalate distillation, with 1.26 million tons of DMO per set per year ; 3 sets for ethylene glycol production, with 600,000 tons of EG per set per year ; 3 sets of ethylene glycol distillation units, with each unit capable of processing 600,000 tons of EG per year.
