Recently, the dynamic compaction work for Baofeng Inner Mongolia Coal-based New Materials Co., Ltd.’s 4×1000,000 tons/year coal-to-olefins pilot project officially commenced amid the sound of firecrackers. The project is located in the Tuk Industrial Park of the Sulihe Economic Development Zone in Wushen Banner. The 4×1 million tons/year coal-to-olefins pilot project includes units for coal gasification, shift reaction, purification, methanol synthesis, methanol-to-olefins (including olefin separation), sulfur recovery, conversion of C4 to 1-butene, steam cracking, as well as production facilities for polyethylene and polypropylene. It also encompasses the associated utility systems, auxiliary production facilities, and storage and transportation infrastructure. Product portfolio: The main products are polyethylene and polypropylene; meanwhile, by-products include sulfur, fuel oil, heavy C4, C5+, MTBE, etc. The 1.4 million tons per year production capacity project for the second phase in Inner Mongolia is undergoing the approval process. According to a report by Cailian News on January 18, Baofeng Energy stated on its interactive platform that the first phase of the project in Inner Mongolia has a production capacity of 2.6 million tons per year, while the second phase has a capacity of 1.4 million tons per year. At present, the social stability risk assessment for the second-phase project has been filed ; The project application report has been prepared, and the process for approving the project is underway in accordance with the established procedures.
